The other day, I went into an arts and crafts supply store and it must've been over 10,000 square feet, and the place was filled with things I've never even considered, but quickly recognized as excellent tools or supplies for the creative soul. I got to thinking to myself about how canvas, paintings, stone, and wood had been made into art for at least the 10,000 years of recorded history that we know about, and then I suspected that it's probably something that upright walking humanoid species have been doing for millions of years.
However, it seems that with the advent of all these supply stores for arts and crafts that the evolution of art has moved faster in the last few decades than ever before. Do you ever wonder what it will be like going through an arts and crafts store in the future? You see, right now scientists are developing new materials, many of them will be used for art. It wasn't that long ago that we didn't have digital art, we didn't have e-books, Photoshop, data analytical visualization, or any of the thousands of variations of these. That's all new.
So what will all of this be like in the future? Will art be a combination of holographic imagery with digital technology placed into the real world? And what about new materials like graphene and carbon nano tubes? That could change the whole concept of scrap books forever. In fact, as you opened up the scrapbook an object attached to a graphene (1 atom thick) pedestal could pop up, but it would be transparent, and it would appear that whatever object popped up was suspended in the air. You might have models of airplanes without stands, oh it would be there, but it would be invisible.
No longer would you need support structures for your art, and although they would be there, they would be transparent, and no one could see them. Your artwork would look like it was floating on air, giving you dramatically new visual effects for your arts and crafts. Are you beginning to see how the future is bold and bright, and how wonderfully you will be able to display your arts and crafts in that future?
Right now these types of space-age materials are very expensive, but I assure you the prices will come down, and within a decade those big department arts and craft stores will have all of this available along with special cutting tools so you can create any size and shape you wish. Please consider all of this.
